Service Pathways
Three Pathways, One Standard of Attention
Each service pathway at Pelangi Tempa is structured around what the watch actually requires — not a fixed menu applied regardless of condition.

How We Approach Every Piece
Written Intake & Assessment
Photographs and a written condition note are prepared before any recommendation is made. The scope of work is agreed with you before the first tool is applied.
Considered Disassembly & Cleaning
Components are disassembled methodically and processed through staged ultrasonic cleaning cycles appropriate to each part type — not a single bath for the whole movement.
Regulated, Observed, Returned
Following reassembly, movements are regulated across multiple positions and observed over several days before the piece is returned — giving the regulation time to settle.
Pathway One
Mechanical Watch Service
A structured service approach for mechanical and automatic calibres, suitable for both daily-worn references and pieces returning to regular use after a period of storage. The work begins with a written intake assessment, photographs of the watch's current state, and consultation with the owner about any specific observations or concerns.
The movement is fully disassembled, with each component individually cleaned through staged ultrasonic processes, inspected under high magnification, and reassembled with carefully selected lubrication on each contact surface. Mainsprings, pivot ends, and pallet stones are evaluated and renewed where wear has progressed beyond operating tolerance. Following reassembly, the movement is regulated across multiple positions and observed over several days.
- Written intake assessment and photographs
- Full movement disassembly
- Staged ultrasonic cleaning by component type
- High-magnification inspection
- Multi-position regulation over several days
Suited for watches at recommended service interval or those with drifting timekeeping.
Pathway Two
Case Restoration & Polishing
A measured approach to restoring the external surfaces of a watch case while preserving its original geometry and design intent. The case is fully disassembled from the movement and bracelet, and each surface is evaluated independently — brushed zones, polished zones, and the transitions between them.
Light scratches and surface marks are addressed using progressive abrasives matched to the original surface treatment. Owners with vintage references where original patina contributes to character can request conservation-only treatment, with refinishing reserved for surfaces where wear has compromised the watch's intended appearance. Includes a basic water resistance check on reassembly.
- Full case and bracelet disassembly
- Per-surface evaluation and treatment
- Conservation-only option for vintage pieces
- Original surface directionality preserved
- Basic water resistance check on reassembly
Suited for worn cases and bracelets where surface condition has changed meaningfully from new.
Pathway Three
Premium Restoration Programme
An extended pathway for watches requiring comprehensive attention — typically pieces that have been stored without service for many years, suffered impact damage, or recently entered the owner's collection without service documentation. The programme combines a full movement service, case and bracelet restoration with conservation in mind, gasket renewal and pressure testing, dial and hands review, and where appropriate, sourcing of correct replacement components.
The owner is consulted throughout the work, with key decisions confirmed in writing before any non-reversible action. A photographic record covers each major stage, and a written condition report is prepared upon completion. Timelines run from ten to sixteen weeks depending on the depth of work and parts availability.
- Full movement service included
- Case, bracelet, dial and hands review
- Gasket renewal and pressure testing
- Component sourcing where required
- Photographic record and written condition report
Suited for important pieces, inherited watches, and references intended for long-term holding. Timeline: 10–16 weeks.

Best for
Daily-worn watches at service interval, or those with noticeable timekeeping change
Best for
Watches where the movement is sound but the case and bracelet show surface wear
Best for
Significant pieces, inherited watches, or watches without recent service documentation
Shared Across All Pathways
Workshop Standards
Documentation First
No work begins without a written record of the piece's condition and an agreed scope of work.
High-Magnification Inspection
All components are inspected under calibrated magnification, not visually assessed in place.
No Action Without Agreement
Non-reversible decisions are confirmed with the owner in writing before proceeding.
Owner Information Security
Client and collection information is held securely and not shared with third parties.
Extended Regulation Period
Movements are observed across multiple positions over several days — not regulated in a single session.
Direct Client Communication
Clients communicate directly with the workshop, not through an intermediary service desk.
